Moorfields Eye Hospital is an NHS foundation trust. This means we have certain financial and managerial freedoms from central government. For instance, we can borrow money more easily. This has helped underwrite the costs of our new eye centre for children and the building of a new main entrance at our City Road site.
Get more involved
Being an NHS foundation trust also means that our patients, and people living in our communities (Greater London, Essex, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire), can get more involved with the Trust through our membership scheme. Members are also eligible to stand for election to our Membership Council, which advises senior management and the Board of Directors on future planning.
